Locker room talk

I was so wrong about GB (aka geek-boy) and Shannon, tonight is their official fourth date. GB still will not talk about it with me. However Shannon just emailed me out of the blue and I am sure she wants to talk about GB. In case my readers did not know, GB and I go for coffee every morning together. I interrogate him about Shannon, but other than telling me everything is going great I get nothing from him. Are men normally this quite about the women in their lives? What happened to all the locker room talk I have heard so much about? Women will talk about all the details to complete strangers, and our coffee buddies know everything there is to know about our sex lives. Mine is very boring so I never have anything to share.

  • GB is affraid of jinxing his thing with Shannon by telling everybody. This way, if it doesn't work, he won't have to admit that anything went wrong! He will just pretend that nothing ever happened, which will prompt us to believe that he has a rather minimalistic sex life. This in turn will ensure that he conserves his reputation as a complete geek, which after all his trademark. I think it's all too clear.

  • Theory 2: The Quantume Leap to Porn Stardom

    GB is not getting any, and he's rather perplexed since Shannon has such a reputation. He's affraid of telling people that he's dating her because they might assume that he's a sex god while deep down he knows the sad truth. If it doesn't work out, he will pretend nonchalantely that nothing ever happened, which in turn will prompt two reactions:

    Reaction 1: GB conserves his precious reputation (see theory 1)

    Reaction 2: GB acquires a reputation as the silent one who gets more than we expected, which will surprise everyone including GB himself.

    But if anything remotely sexual happens, GB will will tell about it all day in a attempt to propulse himself into porn stardom. This will backfire miserably of course, because there's no way we'll buy that crap.
