I hate when someone apologizes because they feel bad that you feel bad. When, in essence, they're apologizing to get themselves off the hook, not because they're genuinely sorry for what they did. The apology is about them and to make themselves feel better, not the person they've offended.

Likewise, an apology with excuses is meaningless.
Sounds like you feel misunderstood. You expected someone to be behave better than they have.

I agree. I hate apologies with excuses too. Frustrated is more like it not misunderstood.
